"It's Always Cool to Care at WSS"

From November 1st through November 10th, Washington Street celebrated its annual "Cool to Care" initiative, which promotes caring and anti-bullying. From our Book of the Month, Heartprints, to our Veterans Day Assembly, our community displayed its generous and caring spirit. Well done!

The NY Islanders Visit WSS

NY Islanders Matt Moulson, Mark Streit and John Tavares visited Washington Street School on Tuesday, November 1st. Promoting literacy and helping WSS kick-off its Cool to Care/Anti-Bullying campaign, the players talked to students, answered questions and signed autographs for 6th grade students. It was a memorable experience for all who attended. Thank you, Mr. Stella, for making it happen!

"Jumping for Our Town"

On Thursday, October 20th, Washington Street School students participated in a Jump-A-Thon to raise money for the Franklin Square Historical Society. Students received donations and pledges based on the number of times they could jump rope in a 5-minute period. It was a beautiful day for a worthwhile cause. Pledge donations are due to the main office by Friday, October 28th. As always, thank you to our wonderful school community for their generous support. Enjoy the video highlighting the day!
